Rose of Winter

Going through my backlog is very interesting since Steam has such great deals sometimes that you buy more than you can play if you do not pay attention (I did not pay attention some years ago). I do not know when exactly I bought this, I only do know that I did not pay more than 1 or 2 bucks for it.

Rose of Winter is a short visual novel otome game. The most surprising part in this was seeing Toby Fox’s name in the credits for the music. The game is also around ten years old, so I’m also very late. The art style is very cute, which was why I bought it in the first place.

You play as a wannabe knight. Right now she’s a mercenary more than a knight but she doesn’t give up on her dream! Your next job is guiding a prince over a dangerous mountain pass to the next city. There are four princes you can choose from, every one of them with a good and a bad ending. And yes, you do fall in love every time in the span of a handful of days. I am not the most romantic person, so those stories always feel somewhat cute and funny, what do you mean you’re head over heels for a person in the span of 48 hours? My girl, you barely know him.

You can choose between the beautiful dragon prince in human form, the tiny and witty fae prince, tiny child prince with his hot and mysterious escort, and beast prince. There is a cliché for everyone to enjoy.
