Misericorde Vol. 1 & 2

Misericorde is a pure visual novel without any choice or gameplay whatsoever. A novel with pictures, music and sounds. In an isolated monastery in 1482 a sister is murdered. The Superior asks the Anchoress to break her vows of isolation and find out who’s the killer. Because of all the inhabitants of the convent, the one being looked away is the only one with a solid alibi.

It is a lovely crafted work. The story is compelling and should have 3 volumes in all. For those who played Umineko no Naku koro ni, there is a umineko-vibe to this, but it manages to do its own thing pretty good. I like all the characters, and I’m interested in how everything is going to be resolved in the end. The protagonist, Hedwig, is absolutely unreliable and all over the place, it is a delight. Living a life looked away to study the scriptures is not good for one’s mental health, who would have thought.

Also, volume 2 has way more naked nuns than I did expect.
