Dune (Villeneuve)

I finally watched Villeneuve’s Dune (yay, only 4 years late). I like everything I’ve seen from Villeneuve, so I’m not on the hate train, but a lot of people I know actually are, for my surprise. The movie was well crafted, well acted and overall there was a lot of care in it. As far as I know, it did not get cut down but several hours like Lynch’s movie. Poor Lynch, really. Hans Zimmer music was also different enough that I did not recognize him immediatly, but I do understand people not vibing as much with Zimmer than Toto. I liked most of the visuals, there was a lot of care put into them, composition and all. It rendered the atmosphere I remember frome the books mastserfully. but I also read the books when I was tweleve or so.

I now want to reread the books again. So there is that, it got me hyped again for Dune.
