Scanner Sombre

You know, when you find a game you really want to play, but you don’t have the means to? I really liked the concept of Scanner Sombre. So it has been sitting on my steam backlog for some years because steam sales are the biggest trap in the world. It got pushed back again and again because other games came out that grabbed my attention. Terrible, too many games, what a complaint to have. Anyway, I’m now diligently eating away my backlog, so I’ve finally played it, yay! And it really is a product of its time.

It is interesting to navigate through the cave with the scanner and illuminating everything around you in rainbow colours. It’s pretty. And interesting. The cave is very linear, so there is that. It is a walking simulator, and very 2017 in that regard. You will either love or hate it for it. Your interactions are few. I’ve also seen stories like this so often right now that I knew where this was going pretty quickly. But it was a pleasant experience nonetheless.
