Papetura
Papetura is a short point-and-click game. One of those point-and-click games with a unique atmosphere and unique, weird creatures. It is a beautiful game. Absolutely visually stunning with nice ambient music. The whole game has been crafted out of paper by one person if I’m not mistaken. That is some serious passion going on here.
There is also nothing much to say. The puzzles are pretty simple. It is a standard point-and-click adventure. You need to save your little strange world and encounter weird but nice creatures along the way that may or may not be helpful. The story is narrated solely with pictograms, no reading is required.
The problem with this kind of game is that they may be visually stunning, but movement and animations are often slow. If this is not a problem in itself, backtracking can get somewhat tedious after a while. Going through 3 different screens again for the forth time at the pace of a snail is not as interesting as the first time. It is but a tiny complaint, the experience of this hand-crafted game is absolutely worth it. It is also short, around 90 minutes of gameplay.
