There was a time, long long ago, when mobile games weren’t cash graps and full of gacha and lootbox games, free at first glance, but full of microtransaction once installed. There was a time, you bought a game that tried to make use efficiently of your phone, mostly the touchscreen. The Room was one of those games. Monument Valley another. Pay your game and play and be happy as it should be.

Monument Valley is an esthetically pleasing game based on persepctive illusions not unlike Esher’s stairs. Not so lang ago, the series finally got a port to console and steam. And a third new installment least year!

If you like the premise of the game or/and the first two, Monument Valley is a no-brainer: you’re getting exactly what you think you’ll get. This is its strong suit, but also its weakness. It is still very pleasing and soothing, but with the 3rd game the puzzles begin to feel very “déjà vu”. It still is a very beautifully crafted third game which also got free addtionnal content. You can not go wrong with Monument Valley if you like perspective puzzle games. The repetitivness of it is but a small price to pay for all the good parts.
